There is nothing wrong with an abacus, because technically it still works. But you would probably question an accountant who refused to use modern financial systems, real-time data and advanced analytics. At ORGX we believe the same applies to strategy and transformation.
Templates and frameworks are still useful. They provide structure, help teams ask better questions and bring different perspectives together. However, in an environment where competitors, technology, regulation and customer expectations are continuously changing, they are no longer enough on their own.
A static analysis or a series of workshops can provide valuable insights, but those insights can quickly lose their relevance if they are not connected to current data, decision-making and execution. That is why we combine our consulting experience with advanced digital tooling.
As an example: our Strategic Pressure Test helps organisations determine whether their strategy is still relevant. It brings together changes in the market, competition, technology and regulation, identifies which developments matter most and helps leadership teams decide where their strategic priorities need to shift. Orbicul connects those insights to continuous improvement and enterprise value. It gives private equity firms and portfolio companies a live view of their operating model, value drivers and improvement priorities, rather than relying solely on periodic reviews and static value creation plans.
The tooling does not replace strategic thinking or human judgement. It helps us make both more informed, faster and more actionable. For us, the starting point is always to understand the why. Why is performance changing? Why is the strategy losing relevance? Why is the organisation not realising its full potential? Once the why becomes clear, the what is often relatively straightforward. The more difficult part is determining how the organisation can achieve it and what should have priority.
How do you translate insight into action? What needs to change in the operating model? Which interventions will create the most value? What should happen first? And how do you keep adjusting as the organisation and its environment continue to change? This is also where traditional consulting can fall short. The diagnosis is clear and the recommendations look sensible, but the organisation is still left to translate them into choices, priorities and measurable results.
We believe insights should lead to clear decisions, those decisions should lead to action and the results should continuously generate new insights. Digital tooling allows us to connect that entire cycle and helps organisations focus their energy and investment on what matters most. This does not mean that every transformation needs another platform. It means that modern organisations should expect more than static frameworks, workshop templates and an attractive presentation.
After all, we do not expect an accountant to work with an abacus anymore. This combination of human expertise and digital capability is also why we now describe ORGX as a hybrid consultancy for lasting advantage. We combine the judgement, creativity and experience of our people with digital tools that help our clients make better decisions, move faster and continuously improve. Because the future of consulting is not about choosing between humans and technology. It is about bringing them together to achieve more.
