The EU Artificial Intelligence Act (EU AI Act) is the EU’s comprehensive legal framework for artificial intelligence. Its goal is not to slow down innovation, but to ensure that AI systems placed on the EU market are safe, transparent and aligned with fundamental rights.

Rather than regulating AI as a single technology, the Act applies a risk based approach: the higher the potential harm, the stricter the obligations.
